Steve Johnson is a minimalist photographer, he uses minimal subjects to tell a story in a photo. In his composition he keeps the lines clean, and uncluttered. In many of them the lines only bring you to the main subject. Usually there is only one main subject. To keep the the picture as a minimalist photograph, he makes sure its decluttered and everything is clean and sharp. He only focuses on one thing. He never really uses colors as a main focus for the pictures because most of them are in black and white. In all the pictures, its very clear what the subject is. The subject always varies though, it could be a person to a single pea. Minimalism has a wide range of options. I like all of his pictures because of the variety. Even though most of them are in black and white, you always get the feeling of a new theme. The pictures aren’t repetitive at all, which seems like that would be the hardest part of minimalism.

Wedding photography is a career not many think about, but to me it seems fantastic. Being a photographer at a wedding is an important job. How else would someone capture their special day? The environment always seems like a happy one. Everyone is celebrating, and you get to capture some of the most important moments of a persons life. There’s so many different styles you can take pictures of. All weddings are different, whether its culture or style. With all the different types of weddings, theres always something going on. There will always be things to be capturing during the wedding. The possibilities are endless. Being around such a happy environment would influence me to take better pictures.

This photo by Penny De Los Santos shows the preparation of food. Using vegetables, and spices she was able to perfectly compose this picture. The vegetables show beautiful color and shape. They were put out in the picture perfectly. I love how all the colors stand out. They bring out each other perfectly. I love the composition on how it seems that the spices are separated from the vegetables like an awkward middle school dance. The yellow spice and the orange carrots bring out the best in each other. I would like this picture more if the carrots didn't separate and go into the the other veggies. The left side of the picture has such clean lines but the right is a little messy which bothers me a bit. Overall it really looks like she planned out how this picture was going to look and all the colors are beautiful.

This image shows a beach in New Zealand. This doesn't seem like the typical beach though. Its more secluded and its not in a huge open area. This photo is unusual because with the framing of the rock, it feels like you're walking into some type of paradise. This picture seems surreal, the clouds are so soft but yet the rock is so sharp. This picture fits creative framing because of the rock formation in the upper part of the photo. It makes you feel like you're inside some sort of tunnel and outside of the frame is a beautiful landscape. I really like this picture because of all the unique colors and how calm everything feels. There's not even a wave in the water, which is really soothing. It feels like nobody has ever been there before because it is so perfect and untouched. I dislike that the photographer didn't focus on the look of the grassy hill before taking the picture. Everything in the picture is smooth and has fine lines, but the hill looks like a mess. Overall I would give the picture 4 1/2 stars out of 5 simply because of the relaxing yet creative feel to it.

This photo shows a beautiful landscape with some rodent type animal standing right in the front. The fluffy clouds make up most of the photograph. I think this picture applies to rule of thirds because in the lower right corner the animal is standing up and the screen in split into thirds with the ground making up 1/3 of the picture and the sky making up the rest of it. There's a lot that I like about this picture. All the colors are perfect and the composition is really good. The picture is super clear which makes you feel like you're actually there. Everything about this is really artistic and one of the best pictures I've seen yet.

This is a picture of a giraffe roaming around in a huge field. I really like how this picture feels relaxing. The colors are not too vibrant but they all stand out. The giraffe is looking directly at you which is really cool because usually it's hard to get a picture like that. I like a lot of things about this picture, mostly the giraffe. Everything is placed really well. It follows the rule of thirds because the animal is standing on the left third of the picture and is not awkwardly standing in the middle. This photo is not as clear as the other ones on the Nat Geo website but is still really cool to look at. The exposure seems to be on point. I chose this picture because it is unique, not just because of the Giraffe. The sunset with the fluffy clouds calms the picture down and the mountains are in the perfect spot. This is one of the better pictures that i've found on the National Geograph

This photograph shows an Indian woman flying a kite over an old city. I really like this picture because of the vibrant red in the woman's dress because it contrasts with the brown that it all around her in the city. The building in the bottom has beautiful architecture and, In my opinion, is one of the best parts of the picture. The photo gives off a relaxing feel as you overlook the city from what I assume to be a tall hill or mountain. I like the fact it has a kite in the background, but I really dislike where the kite is placed. Even though the kite is in a awkward position I still really like the photo. In the picture the focus in mainly on the woman in red. Although everything else in the picture is really clear, the bright red seems to catch your eye. The lighting in the picture is a little dull but it seems to work. The picture shows rule of thirds really well because the woman is standing on the right line and the kite is near where the intersection of the left and the top line would be. In the end, the photo is really enjoyable and pleasing to the eye.

This photograph is beautifully composed. Your eye moves along the photo seeing the beautiful sea-foam green water, dead trees, and lightning. Everything seems to tie together quite nicely. I really like all the colors and how the contrast each other so they stand out. I love how this photo is so unique because of the flashes of lightning in the background. I dislike Some of the background trees and how its a little bit too busy. The photograph makes me feel a little nervous because everything seems to be dead, and there is lightning striking rather close. At the same time it makes me feel calm because of how smooth everything seems. Everything looks very clear, almost like you're actually there. The lighting in the middle right seems to be a bit darker then the rest of the picture which is a bit bothersome. Also some of the trees are a visual distraction. The color in this photo is amazing because everything is so clear and vibrant for the environment. The composition is really nice because everything seems to be placed perfectly even though the lightning was most likely not planned for that area. The photograph could be improved in the upper part of it, it becomes rather dull compared to the rest of the picture. I do like the overall look of the picture, from the unique colors, to the unpredictable lightning.
